Safeguarding and Online-Safety

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is given the highest priority at Draycott. There may be times when adults are concerned about children in the community. If you have any concerns, no matter how small they may seem, about the safety or welfare of any child, please contact the school’s Designated Leads for Child Protection:

Claire Evans (Headteacher) - Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead

Elizabeth Smith (Deputy Head) - Designated Safeguarding Lead

Lucy Hands (Early Years Leader) - Designated Safeguarding Lead

Heather Light (Early Help Practitioner)- Designated Safeguarding Lead

You can also contact Derbyshire County Council’s Child Protection department (Starting Point) on 01629 533190 or the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.

Online-Safety

At Draycott Community Primary School we are committed to the use of computer technologies and recognise the Internet as a valuable tool for learners of all ages. The Internet is increasingly providing the focal point of educational content within the UK. However we acknowledge that computers and the internet do have the potential for inappropriate use and access to undesirable material and that we have a duty of care to protect our pupils.

We teach digital literacy as part of our computing curriculum and expect all pupils to follow the ‘Think then click’ acceptable use policies developed by our school digital leaders.
